Ghost Hunter

I did a little light painting in the Fort Douglas cemetery for a portrait of Tom Young, a local paranormal investigator. Young teaches a 5 week class "Ghostly Guardians" a five week exploration of the paranormal around Salt Lake.

This was a 30 second exposure @ f/7.1, ISO 100. Tom was lit with an off camera 580ex, powered down to 1/32th, and triggered by my lovely assistant Ashley. The rest of the scene I 'painted' with a 1 million candle watt spotlight.

Dew Tour Vert Finals

The AST Dew Tour was in town last week bringing along snowboard/skateboard phenom Shaun White. White was ranked 1st going into the skate vert finals yesterday, but wiped-out on both his 2nd and 3rd run in the finals -- eventually finishing third in the event.

Utah Gov. Huntsman organized a benefit concert/freestyle motorcycle exhibition for the town of Huntington, to help the community heal from a mine disaster that entombed six men Aug. 6 and killed three others who tried to save them. Some of the acts included Karl Malone, 'America's Got Talent' winner and ventriloquist Terry Fator, and X Games gold medalists Ronnie Renner and 2006 Dew Tour winner Mike Mason.

The 109th

Approximately 60 Airmen of the Utah Air National Guard's 109th Air Control Squadron left Utah today to go to an undisclosed location in Southeast Asia to help with the global war on terrorism. This is the Squadron's fourth mobilization in seven years.
