Jesus & Bud

Here is a picture I made in Chicago using my Split-Cam. This plastic toy camera takes double exposure picutres-half of a frame at a time. I am trying to use it more to make photos with good juxtaposition. More to come later...

Centro de Vida Cristiana

I photographed a lively Latino Pentecostal church service this morning. The congregation was very welcoming and I enjoyed the service, even though I didn't understand what they were saying. (I need to start learning Spanish asap...)

Julius

In the final days of the Utah Legislature’s 2006 session, Julius Steubing, 6, and his family are among more than 2,000 disabled Utahns still looking to Capitol Hill for help. During birth, Julius was deprived of oxygen which caused cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The Steubings continue to lobby for funding that would eliminate the years-long waiting list their son is on to receive state services.

Unfortunately for the family, the Legislature did not approve the $8.4 million addition to the budget this session.

Rugby Fans

Every so often, you encounter a scene so bazaar and random, you are thankful to have a camera in your hands. I was shooting an assignment at a local high school when I stumbled across a low budget movie set. They were shooting a film about rugby and had a few hundred arm/leg-less blow up dolls set up in the bleachers, to create the illusion of a crowd. I probably spent way too much time photographing them, but the crew was on lunch break and I was having fun. Enjoy.
