Fun with Underwater Camera

Yesterday, I was assigned to shoot a story about how public pools in Salt Lake are cleaner (less pee and dirty diapers) than the private pools in town. So, I borrowed a friend's underwater housing-basically a glorified zip lock bag-and spent the day swimming. For the most part, it worked really well. But, for a few frames, the front element of the housing shifted, causing a black vignette in the frame.

Here are a few of my favorite frames. Hope you enjoy. Let me know if they work or not.

World Cup Fans

Here are a few pictures of some local Italians watching last week's world cup. I am glad Italy pulled off the win, otherwise the paper wouldn't have used any of these.

World’s Fastest Lawnmower

July 4-

Bobby Cleveland, "America's most decorated lawnmower racer," attempted to set the record for ‘‘world’s fastest lawnmower’’ at the Bonneville Salt Flats. As no record yet exists for this category of racing, he would set an official record regardless of his speed. Cleveland's goal was to reach 104 MPH on his custom built mower. After four attempts, his fastest average speed was 80.752. Good times in the Western Desert.
